Jet Grouting
Overview:
Jet Grouting is a specialist ground improvement technique that strengthens and seals the ground by injecting high-pressure cement grout to form solid, durable soilcrete columns. Using GSI’s Soilmec SM-3 jet grout rig, the process combines precision drilling with pressures of up to 400 bar to mix the grout thoroughly with existing soils, creating a strong and low-permeability foundation.
Grouting is carried out from the base of the design upwards, stopping just below the surface to maintain ground stability and manage spoil. Jet grouting works effectively in almost all soil types, including those with high groundwater, and is ideal for underpinning existing structures, stabilising excavations, controlling groundwater, and mitigating liquefaction risks. It’s a highly adaptable and efficient solution for complex or confined sites where traditional methods aren’t practical.
